Damara FME

Damara FME is a filly by Dourkhan Hero Z, out of our mare Untouched Mara vd Nachtegaal Z (Untouched × L’Esprit × Murano) — combining two proven maternal families with strong connections to some of the best horses in international showjumping.

On her dam’s side, Damara comes from the renowned Hickstead family. Her dam Untouched Mara vd Nachtegaal Z is by Untouched and descends from the same maternal family as the legendary Hickstead, Olympic individual gold and silver medallist with Eric Lamaze, and Admara 2, who competed at World Equestrian Games, World Cup Final, Nations Cup Final and CSI5* 1.60m level.

Mara’s half-sister Amara van de Nachtegaal (Aganix du Seigneur) is currently competing at 1.45m level with Malin Baryard-Johnsson, further adding to the performance within the immediate family.

Her sire Dourkhan Hero Z (Sea Coast Don’t Touch Tiji Hero × Zandor Z) comes from the famous Roosakker family (BWP Prestatiestam 100). Through his dam Zinka de Kalvarie Z and third dam Atoucha van ’t Roosakker, he descends from the legendary Usha van ’t Roosakker, one of the most influential broodmares in modern showjumping. This family has produced generations of international Grand Prix horses and approved stallions.

With Dourkhan Hero Z × Untouched Mara vd Nachtegaal Z, Damara brings together the Roosakker and Hickstead families — two maternal lines with generations of performance at the highest level.

Damara FME was bred in partnership between FM Equestrian, Olympic rider Malin Baryard-Johnsson and Emelie Broman Tegelberg, who together also own her dam, Untouched Mara vd Nachtegaal Z. We are very proud to continue this exciting family together.
